I love the smooth-winding feel of the automatic movement. The dial seems to be a transitional form from the deco-influenced military style of the 1940's to the more severe minimalist style of the 1950s. Apparently, this dial was deemed sufficiently classic to earn an homage from Longines in a recent official replica.
Pastel color and ultra minimalism make this a good example of 50's modernism. This one also has solid timekeeping performance from the classic bumper movement.
Stark 50's minimalism and pastel-silver-on-gold meets the legendary IWC sense of perfect proportion.
The most stereotypically mid-century modern design of them all. Very thin and light for a 50's automatic, and waterproof to boot!
